Get Involved

 

Different Types of Volunteers:
 
1.   Grief facilitators (program night volunteers)
2.   Outreach/Marketing
3.   Administrative
4.   Special Events/Fundraising

 

 
 
     
 
 
1. Program Night Volunteers (PNV): These volunteers meet with family members on program night. The responsibilities include attendance at a training session and attendance at all program night meetings. PNVs are assigned to a particular age group, the caregiver group or the hurricane or quiet room. They will need to spend some time in between meetings preparing for program night. They can call upon designated board members for assistance in preparation. PNV will be expected to adhere to the mission statement and goals of Kathy’s place as explained at training and as reviewed during pre and post meeting briefings.
 
2. Marketing/ Public Relations Volunteers (PRV): These volunteers will help create and distribute information about Kathy’s Place. They will develop relationships with those businesses and/or individuals who come in contact with families that have experienced a death in the family. They will distribute information in conjunction with fundraising efforts and will develop relationships with businesses and individuals interested in supporting Kathy’s Place.
 
3.  Administrative Volunteers: (AV) These volunteers will assist Board members and other volunteers with their responsibilities. They must maintain clear communications with those they are assisting and are responsible for follow through.
 
4. Special Events Volunteers/Fundraising Volunteers:
  • Forming and serving on committees for planning events.
  • All aspects of event planning (permits, registrations, planning meetings, etc)
  • Collaborate with volunteer coordinator on who will staff event, assigning committees (details, descriptions)
  • Collaborate and plan with fundraising coordinator
  • Volunteer for events
